Jeff’s a lifelong student of tax, business and wealth building. Since flipping his first house in 1982, Jeff’s used his growing knowledge of tax and financial planning to build a substantial family fortune, from scratch. He loves to apply what he’s learned to helping others build and keep family wealth. Especially passionate about converting avoidable tax into client wealth, Jeff uses his knowledge and skills to develop innovative tax, estate, and asset protection solutions for TaxMaster clients.
He’s completed the CFA®, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, CFS® and BCM™ programs, holds a Master’s in financial planning and a PhD in financial and retirement planning, and holds the EA tax credential, which gives him unlimited practice rights to represent clients before IRS.
Jeff’s an award-winning academic researcher, and has been repeatedly featured in the national press, including in Barron’s and the Wall Street Journal. He writes a regular column for Forbes.com on advanced tax and wealth matters.
Jeff’s an avid boater, antiques collector and Boy Scouts adult leader. Originally from NY, he lives in the great income tax-free state of Florida with his beautiful wife and business partner Kim, and their two wonderful sons.
Doug is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant with the State of Florida. He graduated from the University of North Florida and began his career in the Assurance department of The LBA Group, Jacksonville’s largest locally owned accounting firm. The LBA Group was merged into BDO USA, the fifth largest accounting network in the world. Shortly after the merger into BDO, Doug made a career move from the Assurance department to the Tax Department. The move was spurred on by a need to help the client and Doug felt his hands were tied while performing audits. After all, the client in the audit pays the bill but gets all the headache. Recently, Doug contacted Jeff with the idea of a partnership to provide Tax planning services as well as Tax Planning and Outsource CFO Advisory services.
Doug is a native of Orange Park, graduated from St. Johns Country Day School and currently lives in Old Orange Park. The majority of Doug’s family also lives in Orange Park, within about a one-mile radius in-laws, cousins, parents, all within walking distance.
Doug is currently the Treasurer and Board Member for a non-profit Rowing Club here in Jacksonville. He is also a member of The West Jacksonville Rotary Club.
Doug is married to his middle school sweetheart Cary, who also graduated from St. Johns Country Day School. and they have one sweet little boy as well as two Boxer dogs. They are also avid Florida Gator fans!
